Gabriel Faure was French composer. He was born in Pamiers. We can say Gabriel Faure is the major role for the development of modern French music with Debussy and Label. The detail and beautiful experiences in his songs are makes him to person who is one of the France's leading composer. In his works, there're a quartet, a piano quartet, a violin sonata, etc. There are many excellent works in the chamber music and songs.
Sicilienne is one of the most famous song in the Faure's songs. Sicilienne name comes from the meaning of "beauty" or ""pride". And also it means come from sicilliana or sicilian(In French, it say sicillienne, sicily). This mean the French dance in 17,18centuery. This song is playing your favorite dances that reveal the charm of Sicily. This song experence the feeling both sad and happy. We can feel smooth and gloomy both at a same time. There are many version of music score to play in violin, cello, flute or piano.
Sicilienne for cello and piano op.78 is used in the act 'pelreashseu and Jangdeu'(op.80). This act's story about the half-brother grab a confrontation between the beautiful queen of love. This is tragic content. In this act, the 'Sicilian' is written in sad. Faure's musices are widely loved.
